MLK Day!

Today is a holiday for most, it is Martin Luther King Day!

While I am thankful for the holiday, - it means my husband is home today!!
I do not choose to celebrate Martin Luther King Day.

Rather I choose to celebrate the verse in Genesis 1:27 that says,"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."

This verse says nothing about colors, heights, or even choices, it says simply that we were ALL created in God's image. It is up to each individual what they will do with their gift of life.

If you are someone who is racists, than realize that God created YOU in HIS image and racists you were not at conception nor at birth.

A person's character is CHOSEN and therefore is his truly distinguishing feature so dear reader if you are ________ than your Character is _________. Only you can fill in the blank.

Our home houses three colors, black, brown, and white and yet we do not identify ourselves by color, to do so would really be ignorant, because we had no choice in the matter! Rather we define ourselves as a family who is constantly growing and changing, who chooses to love unconditionally and who chooses to care for each other. In and of themselves, this is really not a big deal. Anyone CAN do this. What makes us special is that we CHOOSE to.
