As I mentioned last week, March is Reading Awareness Month. Last week we focused on Dr. Seuss' works of literary genius and had a really fun time. (I will be posting those pictures next) Please continue to "journey with us" as we share several of our families favorite authors, sites and chosen works of literature. Please share yours as well; we are always looking for great authors and literary works yet unexplored!

"Eric Carle is acclaimed and beloved as the creator of brilliantly illustrated and innovatively designed picture books for very young children.

The secret of Eric Carle’s books’ appeal lies in his intuitive understanding of and respect for children, who sense in him instinctively someone who shares their most cherished thoughts and emotions."

Reading in general and as a family is one of our families favorite past times. Each month we purchase a family book based either on a celebration of said month or a topic of interest and when possible we combine both. We were able to combine both with this book.

Each page is divided in half with a shape on the top half and picture on the bottom half. You then choose a shape and match it with a picture.

I will be posting pictures of our activities for this book throughout the week, so check back often!
